FQHC (Federally Qualified Health Center)
FQHCs
are community-based organizations that provide comprehensive primary care and
preventive care to persons of all ages, regardless of their ability to pay or
health insurance status. They must meet
certain requirements to receive funding from the federal government such as
providing primary care, diagnostic laboratories, mental health, vision, and
sometimes dental. Many of
them are designed to fulfill the medical home concept.
